leaping into the foundations

our class today was completely top-up with theories and models. yeah. i think we should have this too as theories provide the foundation layer before we go further in this course. the models which have been introduced to us were ADDIE, ASSURE and Dick & Carey Models. ADDIE is short for Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. while, ASSURE is short for Analyze Learners, State Objectives, Select Methods, Media and Materials, Utilize Media and Materials, Require Learner Participation and Evaluate and Revise. can you see the similarities between those two? both has its own explanation that starts with letters. maybe i should start thinking of designing my own model. ASMA. :) by the way, the three models are very useful to me, as a future teacher. all the models mentioned are designed purposely from analyzing learners until evaluating learners. from all the three, i prefer Dick & Carey Model. Even though the model has been to old, 1985, but i prefer to use it.* if i were to use it later. this is because the model provide us with a very crystal clear steps that we should take into consideration while designing a course. it starts with identify instructional goals until develop and conduct Formative & Summative Evaluation. the whole process i would say, PERFECT! but i'm not saying that ADDIE and ASSURE Model is not good. they are delivering the same content and worth to use too. if you are interested, you can check out these links:
